Love setting up camp quickly on the trail? The Flying Tent, designed by Austrian hiking enthusiasts, is your ideal solution.
It seamlessly transforms into a tent, hammock, or poncho—all while weighing just 1.2 kg.
Heavy gear can ruin a hike. That's why multi-functional essentials like the Flying Tent, created by innovative Austrian designers, are game-changers for backpackers.
Designed for solo adventurers, this shelter doubles as a hammock or poncho. "No other market solution matches its portability, lightness, and versatility," says designer Bettina Wenigwieser.
In the ultralight tent category, the Flying Tent stands out, popping up in just 7 seconds with flexible arches. A built-in mosquito net keeps insects at bay for stargazing nights.
Rain incoming? The Flying Tent seals completely. "We use premium fabrics with a 5,000 mm water column rating, plus vents to prevent condensation," explains Wenigwieser.
Switch to hammock mode in seconds using tree straps—perfect for steep mountain terrain. "In heavy rain, it's unbeatable: waterproof zipper keeps you dry elevated off the ground," she adds. In tent mode, it features a 5 cm raised waterproof groundsheet.
After a long trek, relax in hammock mode. Fold the canopy into a pillow for extra comfort.
Need rain protection? Convert it to a poncho by removing the straps. Backpack storage is smartly integrated with pockets and foot-end space. "We're enhancing options for heavier loads," notes Wenigwieser.
