Discover everything about our family trip to SEA LIFE Scheveningen, complete with an honest review and photos. Pair a beach day in Scheveningen with this underwater adventure. As parents who've visited multiple times, we share our real experiences to help you decide if it's right for your family.
I've known SEA LIFE Scheveningen since it replaced the old Waves swimming pool. My last visit was back in 2004 when my kids were under 6. Now, over 12 years later with teens aged 15 and 12, much feels unchanged—still a solid family outing.
Feeding sessions happen throughout the day, with staff sharing fascinating facts about the animals. Ask questions anytime; knowledgeable keepers are always nearby. I missed the piranha feeding but chatted with a keeper who answered everything patiently.
The touch pool lets kids (and adults) interact with sea creatures up close—a highlight, though busy days mean long waits. Tip: Visit midweek during school holidays for shorter lines.
Highly Recommended: Linger in the underwater tunnel. Watch sharks glide overhead, a massive sea turtle cruise by, and vibrant fish schools dart around. It's an immersive experience that feels like diving into the ocean.
One Drawback: Older kids may lose interest quickly. At 15 and 12, mine found it underwhelming after 30-45 minutes. Best suited for ages up to 8, thanks to the themed walkthrough exhibits.
