Explore Hiroshima's Streets from a Cat's-Eye View with Cat Street View

Thanks to Google Street View, you can stroll through global cities and even oceans from your couch. Now, experience Japan at cat height with Cat Street View.

This innovative site lets you virtually prowl Hiroshima's Onomichi region—a port city famed for its feline residents—on all fours. Discover local shops and learn about iconic cats, offering a fresh, paws-on perspective of the streets. As a local tourism manager told Japan Real Time, it "develops a different way of seeing these cities and provides a new viewpoint of the streets."

Currently, explore select shopping streets in cat-loving Onomichi, home to a museum dedicated to maneki-neko—those beckoning cat figurines symbolizing good fortune. More areas and furry guides are coming in early October.
