Top 10 items that we often forget to put in the suitcase

What could be worse than having to run home and be on the verge of missing your plane, for a little giddiness? Not much… Suddenly, to leave serenely, nothing beats a well-prepared luggage. And even if we don't do it 3 days in advance, we make sure we have these 10 items.

1. Identity document

As essential as it is, we have already forgotten all about it one day. And yet, it's our magic pass and, without it, we're not likely to get very far... Whether it's an identity card or a passport, we adopt the good reflex of putting them in our bag by hand before even starting the suitcase.

2. The toothbrush

As we use it until the very last moment, we tend to leave it in its place, in the bathroom, instead of slipping it into our toiletry bag... To prevent this from happening again, we can invest in a – foldable – travel toothbrush.

3.The Pill

Well, that's quite problematic when that happens, especially if you go abroad. So, we think about checking where we are in our cycle and how many platelets we have to bring back, to know if we are taking our prescription with us... Or not.

4. A first aid kit

Whether you have children or not, it's always good to have paracetamol pills, sachets of Smecta, bandages, antibacterial spray on hand... Yes, it can save you!

6. An adapter

If you go far, check the type of electrical outlets. The adapter is one of the things we forget most often and that's why they are sold so expensive at the reception of hotels. And then at the same time, we check that we have all our chargers for smartphones, tablets, iPods, cameras...

7. Q-tips

As silly as it may sound, that's another thing you never think about. But cotton swabs are very rarely provided in hotels and hostels, so we make an effort for the good of our little ears!

8. Sunscreen

To avoid looking like a crayfish from day one, just one watchword:sunscreen (SPF 30 minimum). It's true, you can always buy it on the spot, but frankly, it's a small budget that we prefer to reserve for cocktails on the beach, right?

9. A hat

Whether you're going to an exotic country where the temperature is around 40 degrees or "simply" in France, don't forget to put on a hat... It will be your best friend against sunstroke.

10. Plastic bags

We don't often think about it, but plastic bags are very useful for isolating dirty laundry, wet bathing suits from the beach and many other things...
