Benefits of a Staycation

A vacation away from home can cost a lot of money and energy. Staycations have recently become very popular. A staycation is a vacation where you and your family can relax at home and enjoy day trips close to home. Staying at home may sound a bit boring, but a staycation can turn out to be a really fun time. Keep these benefits in mind:

* You will save a lot of money if you stay at home! Think about how much it costs to travel:plane tickets, car rentals, hotels, dining out, activities. It's a lot.

* Staying at home gives you the chance to learn more about your surroundings. You will be surprised how much there is to do in your village, city or region.

*Staying at home can actually be more relaxing and empowering than traveling. You don't have to deal with packing, crowded airports (and the headache of cancellations), navigating an unfamiliar place or keeping the kids entertained.

* Staycations keep the money you spend local, benefiting the people in your own community. Big plus!

* Less consumption and waste. People tend to change their habits when they are on vacation. Most people will produce more waste and often don't recycle just because they don't have their usual bin to hand. During a staycation you don't have to give up your good habits to have fun.
