This is how you request a Non-Covid19 statement

The Coronavirus has kept us busy for months, and unfortunately it is still not over. Now that more and more countries are opening their borders to tourists, many people still choose to go on holiday. But that is not always easy. Many countries have taken drastic measures to prevent the further spread of the corona virus. One of these measures is the obligation to demonstrate with a so-called Non-Covid19 statement that you have been tested on a certain date and that you are not infected with the Coronavirus. But the GGD does not offer this statement. You can contact PCRtest.nl for this. We explain here how the application process works.

How does the Covid-19 PCR test work?

At PCRtest.nl you can easily make an appointment for a corona test (PCR test) and a Non-Covid19 statement. After filling in your details, you choose the date and location at which you want to have the test taken. You can choose from locations throughout the Netherlands. In a PCR test, it is checked whether there is genetic material from the COVID-19 virus in the pharynx. A sample is taken from your nose or throat using a special cotton swab. The collection of test material is performed by trained medical personnel and takes approximately 3 to 5 minutes. This material is then analyzed in the laboratory. You will receive the test result by e-mail the next day. A negative result means that you are not a carrier of the Covid-19 virus. A positive result means that you have tested positive for Covid-19, you are a carrier of the virus. In the event of a negative result, you will receive an official travel document (Non-Covid19 statement), which you must take with you on your trip. The tests offered at PCRtest.nl have been approved by RIVM. Please note that in certain countries the Non-Covid19 statement may not be older than 48 or 72 hours.

Antibodies test

For some countries, such as Morocco, an antibody test is also required. This test shows whether there are antibodies against the coronavirus in your blood. In this test, blood is taken from your arm or finger.

Who are the PCR tests for?

The PCR tests are intended for travelers without complaints who travel to destinations where a Non-Covid19 statement is required. As the requirements and restrictions for travel change regularly, we recommend that you check the current requirements for your destination country on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is important that the test is taken shortly before your trip. This must be done three (at the latest two) days before your departure. If you currently have complaints that may indicate the coronavirus, then you fall under the Dutch test policy and you can contact the GGD for a corona test.

Cost PCR test and insurance reimbursement

The costs of a PCR test and Non-Covid19 statement are € 109.95 and that of an antibody test € 44.95. You must pay this directly with the application. Is my PCR test (health statement) reimbursed by my insurance? If the test is requested through your GP, it depends on the health insurance that you have taken out, whether the costs of the test are reimbursed.
