How to get a work permit in Thailand?

Besides being a dream destination for holidays, Thailand is also a place that attracts more and more immigrant workers, especially from Europe. The economic climate of Thailand is excellent for those who are looking for a new professional experience or for anyone who wants to invest in this little paradise. But before embarking on this path, it is important to know a minimum about the different procedures in force in this country.

As in any other country, no foreigner can claim a position without a work permit. The request must be submitted, at the latest one month, before the planned departure. Fluency in English, given that Thailand is an English-speaking kingdom, as well as knowledge of local codes and customs would be an asset.

The processing of your request takes an average of three weeks. And the administrators in charge of issuing your license can request a translation into Thai of the documents you will have to provide, among others:

  • the photocopy of your passport:the first page, the page containing your photo, the page of the residence visa, the page indicating your entry into Thailand;
  • photocopy of your entry card into the country,
  • certified photocopies of your diplomas,
  • a medical certificate attesting to your health
  • two color passport photos (5*4cm) less than 3 months old
  • a letter from your future employer explaining the reason for not recruiting locally for the benefit of a foreigner
  • your detailed CV
  • if you are married to a Thai national, also provide a marriage certificate
