1. The Boswerf in Zeist

In the heart of Utrecht, in Zeist, you will find a beautiful nature play forest. The kids can enjoy themselves for hours in this playground in Utrecht in a natural environment.

  • Open:During Summer Time Wednesday to Friday from 10am to 4.30pm and Sunday from 12pm to 4.30pm. During the winter time, the play forest closes at 4 p.m. In addition, there is a summer closure from July 21 to Tuesday August 21.
  • Cost:free
  • Eating and drinking facilities are available. There is also a varied range of walks, bike rides and educational activities and treasure hunts.

2. Tin &Burgers in Zeist

Playing and eating well:that sounds like the perfect combination for a day out, doesn't it? At Blik &Burgers in Zeist you are baked. Both when it comes to playing and eating. While the kids are having fun in this outdoor playground in Utrecht, you can relax on the terrace. And afterwards you can have a snack. A person doesn't need more, do they?

  • Open: Open daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10.00 to 22.00.
  • Cost:Playing is free † You are, however, expected to have a drink.
  • There is a food and drink facility available.

3. Forest playground Anafora in the Maximapark, Utrecht

Meters-long rope bridges and high wooden towers. It looks like a castle, there in the Forest Playground at Anafora! And it also has a royal touch. It is located in the Maxima Park. Opened by Queen Maxima herself † That's why it's so busy in the photo above, it's from the opening. The kids can play and you can relax on the terrace. At least, if you can lose sight of those rascals for a while. This forest playground in Utrecht is limited. The only exit is at the terrace of pavilion Anafora.

  • Open:The opening hours of the playground are the same as those of the restaurant. You can find the varying times on the website.
  • Costs:Free † You are 'expected' to have a drink at the adjacent Anafora.

4. The Stoute Schoenenpad near Stoutenburg, a kind of playground in Utrecht

Put on the naughty shoes and go out with the whole family! This walking path (1 km) is not a typical playground like the other playgrounds in Utrecht. And yet you can play wonderfully on the Naughty Shoes Path! It's actually a playground. Do the kids never feel like going for a walk? This will automatically change on this path. There is plenty to discover, see and play. And the dog is welcome, as long as you keep him on a leash.

5. Play forest Gagelbos in Utrecht

Do you prefer to cross the ditch with a raft, or do you opt for the cable car? In the Gagelbos play forest in Utrecht, the children can romp, climb and get dirty. Not bad, especially if you grow up in the city. Here you can enjoy nature and your children will be playfully immersed in it. And the parents can really enjoy that!

6. Playground Kloosterplantsoen in IJselstein

Playing on the remains of a very old monastery; how beautiful is that? In IJstelstein your children can play in a very historic playground in Utrecht. Fine play equipment, a beautiful sandpit and lots of water fun. And also a nice place to stay for mom and dad!

  • A catering facility is available from April to October, subject to weather conditions and the availability of volunteers.
