Paris to Bucharest for €19? It sounded too good to be true, but that's what Blue Air's homepage advertised. As frequent visitors to Romania (twice a year on average), we were intrigued enough to book.
I quickly entered our itinerary and dates on their site. Note: departures are from Paris-Beauvais airport, about an hour by train from Gare du Nord. Convenient for us then, as we lived in Beauvais.
Arrival is at Bucharest Otopeni, the low-cost equivalent—farther from the city center, but that's the trade-off for budget fares.

Checked Baggage? Proceed with Caution
The booking prompted for checked bags at €20 each. I skipped it initially, only to pay €30 per bag at the airport. Lesson learned: hand luggage (one per person) is free, but prepaying baggage saves €10. Worth it if needed.
Final twist: credit card payment added €16. Total: €92 confirmed. Limited options, but standard for low-cost carriers.

Despite the baggage fee surprise, check-in, security, and boarding went seamlessly with printed tickets (print ahead to avoid extras). Walking across the tarmac? Classic low-cost quirk, no big deal.
