We had to wait a long time for it again, but we are finally in the middle of the holiday period. What are your plans? Already gone, or are you still allowed? Will it be a plane trip, or are you going to the sun by car? We have 2 weeks of camping planned and a romantic weekend away at the end of the holiday.
We still go for the 'old-fashioned' camping, but a little more luxurious so to speak. Not completely back to basics this time, which we also like to do. I can really enjoy that, but somehow it is also a bit of a struggle. After years of camping I still prefer not to walk over the campsite with a toilet roll 😉 . Do you recognize that? But it is wonderful for the kids, who enjoy ultimate freedom with peers. And if the kids are having fun, so are mom and dad. Yet I already know that after all that camping fun and 6 weeks of vacation from the children, I will also spoil ourselves with a romantic weekend away... with just the two of us 😉 .
You really don't hear me complaining about it, but going on holiday with the whole family always results in a little bit of stress. While driving from pee break to pee break. Have we packed everything? Does everyone have enough clean underpants? And:as long as the weather remains good, because rain for whole days is usually not good for mutual relationships, especially not with children. And how about all those kilos of wax when you got home? As soon as you outgrow your childhood, going on vacation also takes on a different meaning. Your long-lived fun phase is over as soon as your kids' one starts! All the more reason to spoil yourself a little every now and then. And that's why I'm planning a romantic weekend away for me and my hubby when the holidays are over. Can we relax a bit 😉 .
At the campsite is wonderful, but during our romantic weekend away we go for luxury everywhere. The kids don't need to know that. And besides, a weekend with grandparents is also quite all inclusive for their. Our choice fell on a weekend in Bergen op Zoom. This is located in Brabant, against the Oosterschelde and Zeeland. So you can be on the beach in an hour, or on a tour boat through the Biesbosch nature reserve. And if the weather is disappointing, you don't even have to leave your hotel if it has a good wellness 😉 . So that is also on our wish list. And of course you won't hear me complaining about the chocolate package included in the package!
Now that our own dragons are in Resort Opa &Oma, we can fully enjoy a delicious breakfast and dinner, and access to the wellness at Hotel de Draak. Such a 3-course dinner is quite different from the BBQ at the campsite.
