Last weekend, my family and I stayed overnight at HUP Hotel in Mierlo to explore its offerings firsthand. As parents of an 11-year-old and a 15-year-old, we're sharing our honest experiences in this detailed review.

Located just outside Mierlo's center, HUP Hotel's exterior might not wow you at first glance—it's a sturdy building with a standout entrance. But step inside, and you'll discover a hidden gem. Trust me, it's worth it.

With kids aged 11 and 15—who often have diverging interests—finding a hotel that suits everyone can be tricky. HUP Hotel nailed it with diverse, engaging activities that kept even our teen hooked. Our review highlights why.
We arrived Saturday around noon for a one-night stay, departing Sunday midday due to other plans. Initially, I considered exploring nearby areas, but the hotel's offerings kept us on-site. We clocked about 12,000 steps on Saturday alone—impressive for an indoor stay.
Check-in was warm and efficient. The entrance radiates coziness, signaling a true family-friendly vibe.
Floor stripes, sports-themed signage, a gymnastics cabinet, hanging chairs, a slide, billiards, lush plants, and a stylish bar create intimate nooks in this expansive hotel. The design fosters warmth despite the size.
We kicked off with terrace lunch—essential for us food-loving families. The menu catered to all, from kids' sandwiches to hearty wraps.
Lunch on the terrace was spot-on: fresh, well-presented dishes for every palate. Later, sports bar snacks like chicken sticks and nachos were hits. Dinner at HUP EET offered a delicious 3-course menu—my salmon starter and surf & turf main were highlights, as were the house wines (both red and white approved!). Fun touches like table mikado and a pizza cutter kept things lively.
Evening grilling at the bowling alley is another option.
HUP EET's buffet was bountiful: bacon, omelets, eggs, sausages, fresh fruit, pancakes, yogurt, croissants, sandwiches, and even salads. Plenty to fuel active days.
Choices abound—we had a packed itinerary of family activities. Family foosball was a riot (tough with just four players). Indoor soccer, Monkeytown, darts, and street jumping thrilled everyone, even on a quieter day.
Sunday swim in the family-friendly pool (great for floating, ball games, handstands) plus hot tubs. Bowling delivered strikes and laughs; we also hit tennis, basketball (our daughter shone!), screen golf, mini-golf, and peeked at fitness classes.
True to its 'sports hotel' name, rooms feature sporty details: sock-draped desks, netted trash cans, fitness balls, soccer-tile bathrooms, and table tennis in connecting family rooms. Genius!
This stay delivered quality family time—no boredom or screens needed. Spotless facilities, including pool and changing areas, stood out. Minor suggestion: add pool towels and robes in rooms.
