32% of travelers are addicted to “instagrammable” establishments

Taking beautiful photos and sharing them on social networks has become so natural that every traveler is dying to publish their best vacation shots to make their loved ones and other contacts green with envy. As a result, more and more people are making it a point of honor to carefully choose a so-called “instagrammable” accommodation. That is, an establishment with an ultra-design decoration which will allow, in addition to having a pleasant experience, to take magnificent photos!

Social networks are an integral part of the daily life of travelers

Booking.com, the global leader in connecting travelers to accommodations, surveyed nearly 19,000 international travelers about how they choose their vacation accommodation. Results ? A third of travelers (32%) reveal that they love staying in “instagrammable” accommodation and this figure even rises to 63% for Indian travelers and 59% for Chinese and Brazilians… Moreover, nearly One in five travelers (18%) admit to having taken photos of their place of stay pretending it was their own home. Yes, social networks are really an integral part of their daily lives, wherever they go...

Moreover, this study also tells us that more than half of travelers – more precisely 56% – reveal having already stayed in an establishment that looked better in the photo than in reality (it happened to us so many times!) while that 4 in 10 travelers (41%) say they have stayed in a property that is much nicer than it appears in the photos.
