32% of Travelers Prioritize 'Instagrammable' Accommodations, Booking.com Survey Finds

Sharing stunning vacation photos on social media has become second nature for many travelers. Increasingly, they're seeking out 'instagrammable' accommodations—stylish properties with eye-catching designs that deliver both memorable stays and shareable moments.

Social Media Plays a Key Role in Travelers' Choices

Booking.com, the global leader in connecting travelers with accommodations, surveyed nearly 19,000 respondents worldwide on their booking habits. The results? A third of travelers (32%) prefer 'instagrammable' stays, rising to 63% among Indians and 59% for Chinese and Brazilian travelers. Remarkably, 18% admit to photographing their lodging as if it were their own home. Social media is clearly woven into their journeys.

Over half of travelers (56%) have stayed somewhere that looked better in photos than in reality—a common pitfall we've all encountered—while 41% found properties even more impressive in person.
