Holiday etiquette:the do's and don'ts during a bungalow holiday

Let's be honest; most dream trips are to distant destinations and not in a bungalow close to home. Still, a holiday home can be a great solution to get away from it all if you don't have money or don't feel like traveling for so long with young children, for example. But then comes the second problem… all those negative stories about holiday parks. These are also good to take with a grain of salt, because you have enough influence on how the holiday goes in a holiday home. Here are the do's and don'ts for a bungalow holiday.

The don'ts
Let's start with the things you should not do during a bungalow holiday.

Accept a dirty house
It sometimes happens that you find a dirty house, unfortunately. What you should not do is keep your mouth shut about this and accept it. You have to put down quite a bit of money for the holiday and the least you can expect in a clean accommodation. BungalowSpecials has published an article on how to make sure you book a clean holiday home. One of the tips is that you must indicate on the spot when a holiday home is dirty. The staff can then immediately intervene by having a cleaning crew come or arrange another house for you. Afterwards they can often no longer arrange anything and that is a waste of the holiday.

Bring all groceries in advance
With a bungalow you usually have to take a little more with you than for a simple overnight stay in a hotel. Then save space in the car by collecting the groceries at your destination. Because just as realistic:there is a supermarket everywhere. It would be a shame to fill the whole car with all those groceries that you can also get there.

You get annoyed at the neighbors
A holiday park is a place where people of all shapes and sizes stay during their holidays. There is a chance that you have a set of neighbors sitting next to you with whom you are not quite on the same page. Try not to get too involved with this. Go do fun things yourself, make it cozy in your own house and if you really experience nuisance, say something about it in a calm way.

The do's
But there are also plenty of things that you should especially do during a bungalow holiday so that you have a wonderful time.

Choose the perfect holiday park
Not only the public but also the holiday parks come in all shapes and sizes. The large choice can be overwhelming, but it can also be the best way to choose a park that completely suits your needs. For example, when you go out with the family, make sure there are plenty of facilities for the kids to enjoy themselves. If you prefer nature and tranquility, you choose a park with fewer facilities, but in the middle of the woods. There are also very luxurious holiday parks with wellness. For example, choose holiday parks in Friesland and then filter on the desired facilities. This way you quickly have an overview of parks that suit you.

Enjoy the beauty of your own country
Okay, it's not that distant dream trip, but the Netherlands is really beautiful! Did you know, for example, that our small country has no fewer than 20 national parks? It is not surprising at all to go on holiday in your own country more often. Bet you'll come home with stories that you've seen breathtaking things. And when they ask where you've been, you say with conviction:just, in the Netherlands!

Get well prepared for your holiday
As we mentioned earlier, you have to take into account more things than with a simple overnight stay in a hotel. So check in advance what is in the house and what you still need to bring with you. That way you won't be faced with unpleasant surprises. For example, think of garbage bags, salt and pepper, and the bottle opener (imagine!).
