Many followers joined us on our latest Iceland adventure. As seasoned visitors—this marked our third trip to the land of fire and ice—we're continually amazed by its breathtaking landscapes and immersive natural wonders.

Just a 3.5-hour direct flight from Paris, Iceland delivers an instant scenic escape. Experience profound calm and tranquility—perfect for families. Savor exceptional cuisine and relax in geothermal pools heated to 40°C.

We've explored both, and it's hard to pick a favorite. Spring and summer offer near-endless daylight, highlighting lava fields, volcanoes, glaciers, black-sand beaches, and lakes amid vibrant flora and fauna.
Winter brings shorter days—sunrise around 11:30 a.m. and sunset by 3:30 p.m. in December—casting blue, gray, or white hues over the landscapes. Plan around daylight hours. Snow adds magic, enhanced by steaming fumaroles.

Winter bathing in natural hot pools amid snowflakes is unforgettable, as are Northern Lights visible only on dark nights. That's why multiple visits are essential. Our week-long trips have unveiled vast diversity, with fresh surprises each time.

As an island, Iceland has a variable oceanic climate. In Reykjavik winters, expect -5°C to 5°C; inland is chillier, but fierce winds and blizzards are the real challenge. Layer up using the 'onion' method: technical base layer, fleece, down jacket, gloves, technical leggings under pants (Decathlon's are excellent), warm socks, and après-ski boots. For kids, choose easy-on/off, snowproof gear.
Summers are milder (15°C in May); pack a base layer and waterproof jacket.
We've flown Icelandair and WOW air. Direct Paris flights take 3.5 hours. Use Google Flights to snag round-trips under €200 by booking early. Schedules: daytime from Paris, early dawn return from Reykjavik—jet lag minimal, but worth it!
Take the bus from Keflavík Airport to Reykjavík, then join guided day tours.
For flexibility, rent a car—we recommend 4x4s, especially in winter.

Heavy snow blanketed roads during our stay; main Ring Road 1 is plowed, but secondary routes remain tricky. All cars have studded winter tires, but 4x4 traction shone in low visibility and drifts. Blue Car Rental provided our reliable 6-seater; child seats available on-site.
Accommodations have boomed: try modern spots like ION Adventure Hotel or cozy Airbnbs.
Our standout was a remote Airbnb near Selfoss, ideal for Golden Circle and South Coast exploring.
