Spanning only 116 km², Jersey is effortlessly explorable. Its British influences shine through in architecture, cuisine, and lifestyle, yet it stands as a self-governing entity with its own parliament and Jersey sterling currency.

Exploring Jersey in a Few Days

Jersey is a hiker's dream, with 100 km of pedestrian-priority paths through tree-lined hedges. Circle the island in four or five days, marveling at wild northern cliffs, sandy western and southern beaches, and eastern views toward France. Twelve circular routes (2-4 hours each) cover the 12 parishes and key sights.

Cycling thrives here too, with dedicated coastal and country lanes. The Jersey Tourist Office provides detailed cycle route maps.

For ease, public buses, taxis, and cars depart from Saint Helier’s Liberation Station. Don’t miss the char-à-banc—charming open-top retro buses—for island tours or trips to the renowned Durrell Wildlife Park.

Getting to Jersey

Its closeness to France makes access simple. Ferries from Saint-Malo, Granville, or Carteret take just 1-1.5 hours, for foot passengers or cars. Flights are available but longer, with limited direct options from French airports.
