Lion Will endured 13 years locked in a cramped, filthy cage at a Brazilian circus. Although circuses with wild animals have been banned in Brazil, many animals continue to suffer abuse and exploitation in such operations.
Will was among them until Rancho dos Gnomos, a dedicated sanctuary, rescued him after more than a decade of hardship.
Watch this moving video as Will experiences grass under his paws for the first time in years:
Rancho dos Gnomos specializes in rehabilitating abused, neglected domestic, wild, and exotic animals—many of whom were held captive for extended periods.
The experienced team guided Will's transition to freedom, and as seen in the video, he quickly embraced his new life, far from the confines of a tiny cage.
While it's heartbreaking that his rescue came after so many years, witnessing his joy is truly uplifting.
