A few months ago, we spent two nights at the NH Hotel in The Hague. Wondering if it's recommended? Here's our detailed firsthand account.
NH Hotels is a trusted international chain with over 360 properties across 30 countries, catering to business travelers, couples, and families alike. Their website makes it easy to filter by guest count or themes like family-friendly or eco-conscious stays.
Frequent guests can join the rewards program, earning points per stay redeemable for discounts on future bookings or extras like breakfast.
We didn't choose this hotel ourselves—it was assigned through a secret deal from hotelspecialsnl.nl. You specify only the city and dates, and for just €130 total for two people (including breakfast), we got two nights. An incredible value compared to standard rates.
Our seventh-floor room offered stunning views (though heights aren't my favorite). The beds were comfortable, and everything felt clean and well-maintained. However, the room and bathroom layout is unconventional—and problematic.
Upon entering, the bathroom is immediately to the left, separated only by frosted glass panels. No solid door means anyone entering sees straight to the toilet. Worse, the bath/shower wall is also frosted glass facing the bedroom—you can see silhouettes clearly from bed. Fine for couples, but awkward with kids or colleagues. Nighttime toilet trips are disruptive too: the bathroom light floods the bedroom, waking light sleepers. A curtain here would help immensely.
Breakfast was a highlight: an extensive buffet with breads, fruits, veggies, eggs, cereals, yogurt, and more. Plenty for hearty appetites.
Staff were generally friendly, but we overheard unprofessional comments about guests, including laughter at their situations—not ideal.
This was our first positive NH experience, far better than our stay at the NH in Waalwijk. Rooms clean, service solid, breakfast outstanding, and exceptional value via the deal. The quirky design and staff conduct were drawbacks. We rate NH Hotel The Hague 7.5/10.
