Safari Resort Beekse Bergen; sleep among the wild animals!

For those who would like to sleep among the wild animals… we have good news! You no longer have to go to Africa for this, but can simply go to the Safari Resort Beekse Bergen. Spend the night in a house among lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, rhinoceroses and many more wild animals. How fantastic is that? The Safari Resort Beekse Bergen opened its doors in April 2018 and is ready to allow the general public to spend the night in beautiful lodges among the wild animals. I've been there and tell you all about it.

Safari Resort Beekse Bergen

They have been building the Safari Resort Beekse Bergen for a while and I have been following it more or less 'closely'. Probably because I kind of have a soft spot for the Beekse Bergen. I think it is one of the most beautiful zoos we know in the Netherlands and I love going there. Even in winter it is nice to stay there. For example, we have been to Africa by Light before and this year we also visited the Winter Dream in the Beekse Bergen.

We have also been at the campsite of the Beekse Bergen for years and I have also looked at the holiday park. But this Safari Resort Beekse Bergen is surely the icing on the whipped cream of that delicious cake!

We were one of the first to experience a stay at the Safari Resort Beekse Bergen and I can tell you, it was even more beautiful than I thought. Would you also like to spend the night among the wild animals at the Safari Resort Beekse Bergen?

Safari Resort Beekse Bergen; the accommodations

You can spend the night at the Safari Resort in various accommodations. In total, more than 400 accommodations are being built. Lodges for the whole family, but also safari tents or a tree house with a real box bed. Everything has been thought of.

  • Lodge; 6 persons
  • Lodgeplus; 8 persons
  • Kids lodge; 6 persons
  • Group Lodge; 14 people
  • Treehouse; 6 persons
  • Safari tent; 6 persons
  • Safari tent plus; 8 persons

Nice detail too:the interior of the accommodations of the Safari Resort Beekse Bergen is tailored to the styles of four African tribes, the Himba, the Gurunsi, the Ndebele and the Mursi. Nice way to also sniff a little culture 😉 .

All the above accommodations of the Safari Resort are inspired by African nature and are spread between the savannas and the lion plain. It is also useful that you can indicate when booking your accommodation whether you prefer to sit at the lion's plain or at the savannah.

Choose your own house at Safari Resort Beekse Bergen

Update 06-4-2018: From now on you not only choose the area where you want to sit, but you can reserve your exact bungalow! Where we were, however, was a surprise.

The black Rhinoceros can now also be seen in the Safari Resort Beekse Bergen!

For example, the chance is greater than one of your children is stuck with his nose against the window of your lodge to spot his favorite animals.

What is there to do at Safari Resort Beekse Bergen?

Besides staying among the wild animals at the Safari Resort Beekse Bergen, there is much more to do when you book your stay here.

  1. Heated pool Maji Springs
  2. Ranger Basecamp with activities
  3. Pamoja Lounge
  4. Playground
  5. Game Drive

1. Swimming in Maji Springs

Karibu Town has a nice heated swimming pool with an adventurous water playground where the kids can enjoy themselves.

2. Ranger Base Camp

Various activities are organized daily by the rangers of the Safari Resort Beekse Bergen in which the children can participate. Crafts, dancing and playing are of course part of this, but what is even more fun is that in the evening an exciting story is told by the ranger by a campfire and that the day ends with putting the elephants to bed or other animals, how cool!

3. Pamoja Lounge

In the Pamoja Lounge at the Safari Resort Beekse Bergen you can enjoy a game of bowling with your family in an African atmosphere. To stay completely in style, you can hear African music (drums) here and you can also spoil your inner self with something delicious to drink and eat.

4. Playground in Karibu town

Nice play equipment can be found at the terrace in Karibu Town. Provides great entertainment. If you have very small children, it is advisable to book a house at Karibu Town nearby. As mentioned, we were at the lion's share and that is exactly on the other side of the Safari Resort Beekse Bergen. Fine for us, but with small children it is best to take a walk to the playground.

5. Game drive

My own regret is that we didn't do the Game Drive activity. On the last day - from the safari park of the Beekse Bergen itself - I saw that you really go off the trails during the safari with the Land Cruiser and an 'own' ranger. You can not only ask the ranger all the questions you have, but he really drives an open jeep along the giraffes, for example. You can just pet them, so close! That seems super, super cool. It is in any case easy to book via the app of the Safari Resort Beekse Bergen.

Eating at the Safari Resort Beekse Bergen

Don't feel like cooking yourself during your stay at Safari Resort Beekse Bergen? Then you can enjoy a nice bite to eat in restaurant Moto. And when the weather is nice, you can of course sit on the terrace here so that you also have a view of the Savannah while eating.

The terrace at the Pajoma Lounge

I would like to mention the terrace at the Pajoma Lounge of Safari Resort Beekse Bergen separately because we had a wonderful time here. There is plenty of room in the sun, but also in the shade if you want. The view from the terrace is fan-tas-tic. You have a full view of the savannah and you do not get bored and photographed. The cappuccino is delicious and the 7-up lemon lemon was also very popular.

Above all, it is a special experience - with a drink in your hand - to watch the herds pass by about 15 meters from the terrace. A small impression…

Free attraction pass with your stay

Of course you can use free WiFi in your accommodation and you will also receive the free attraction pass with your stay at the Safari Resort Beekse Bergen. With the attraction pass you can go free and unlimited to:

  • Safari Park Beekse Bergen
  • Playland Beekse Bergen
  • Animal Kingdom, the Family Zoo
  • Sportiom 's-Hertogenbosch
  • Aviation Theme Park Aviodrome
  • ZooParc Overloon
  • AquaZoo Friesland

Just like with our stay at the Dierenbos Holiday Park, we also received such a pass with our stay. Very nice of course, but you probably only use it if you stay a little longer, that is. For more information and extra tips about a cheap weekend away with your children, you can also read Gezinopreis.
