Colmar Tops Airbnb's List as France's Most Welcoming City for Second Year Running

For the second year in a row, Colmar has earned the top spot as France's most welcoming city on Airbnb. Known as Alsace's Little Venice, it garnered the highest ratings and reviews from travelers who visited in 2017.

Nîmes takes second place with a remarkable six-spot jump from last year. Arles rounds out the podium, boosted by its renowned photography festival.

A Diverse and Surprising Ranking

Chamonix ranks fourth, followed by Annecy, Honfleur, La Teste-de-Buch, Reims, Cannes, and Vannes in tenth. This eclectic mix spans historic towns, mountain destinations, and coastal gems. The ranking draws from French resort towns with at least 6,500 traveler reviews in 2017, excluding the country's ten largest urban areas.

Airbnb extended the survey across Europe. In Spain, sun-seekers favor Andalusia's Seville, with Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Catalonia's Girona close behind. Portugal's travelers adore the lush, volcanic Madeira Islands, led by Funchal.
