Axiom Space's Luxury Orbital Hotel Set for 2022 Launch, Designed by Philippe Starck

Imagine spending a night among the stars, sipping cocktails in retro-futuristic rooms designed by renowned French designer Philippe Starck, with complimentary Wi-Fi to share your galactic views on Instagram. Staying connected is essential, even in orbit.

As affluent adventurers seek unparalleled experiences, space remains the ultimate frontier—a luxury reserved for the elite.

Axiom Space is pioneering this vision with a 10-day stay in a premium orbital hotel, catering to those with bold spirits.

Philippe Starck crafted the interiors for a cozy, inviting atmosphere: quilted cream-colored suede walls illuminated by hundreds of LED lights that shift hues based on the station's position relative to Earth.

"My vision was to create a comfortable, friendly egg, where the walls are soft, in harmony with movements in weightlessness. This dematerialization will be a first approach to infinity. The traveler should physically and mentally feel his floating action in the Universe," Starck shares on his website.

The station is slated to welcome guests in 2022, with initial orbital stays possible as early as 2020—though space projects often face delays.

It accommodates eight passengers, including a professional astronaut, at $55 million (about €47 million) per seat—an exclusive adventure not for the faint-hearted or claustrophobic.
