Traveling is a great way to discover the world and create memories. Going on holiday with your family or friends is of course great, but traveling alone can be just as much fun, and is a real challenge. But on the other hand, we cannot ignore the fact that it can be dangerous if you travel alone as a woman. That's why we've got 10 tips for all avid ladies who would like to explore the world alone.

1. Be confident - it's the best way to avoid unnecessary attention. The worst thing you can do is be scared or anxious.

2. Talk less - don't talk too much if you don't speak the language unless you have to. You will not stand out as a tourist.

3. Listen to music – your headphones become your best friend when you travel alone. You are less likely to be harassed then.

4. Stay in touch – it's wise to keep in touch with someone from home who knows what you're doing.

5. Pack like a pro – carrying too much luggage will be a drag on your trip. Only take what you will really need. Traveling light makes you feel freer.

6. Stay alert – it's a good idea to remember that only your eyes and ears should monitor everything to make sure you're safe. Do not leave your luggage unattended at any time.

7. Be your own guide – before you travel, research the place and country you are going to. When you get there learn the basics like where to stay, the nearby areas, a little bit about language and money and what the costs are for food and other facilities.

8. Arrive during the day – that way you know where you are, you can do your shopping before dark, and you don't have to walk down streets with all your luggage so that people see that you are a tourist.

9. Make Friends – Traveling alone can be lonely, but it's the best way to make friends. This way you might meet people with the same interest and you can occasionally do something together.

10. Create Memories - Live in the moment and take your camera to capture images of your trip. The best thing you can do is enjoy yourself to the fullest.
