According to a recent British Airways survey, 53% of Dutch parents rank crying children as their biggest concern during flights. An additional 11% worry about kids staying seated or disturbing fellow passengers. Lesser fears include ear pain from cabin pressure changes and messes around seats.
While 67% of parents view flying with children as challenging, nearly 40% who have traveled this way prefer air travel over other options and recommend it to others. Children agree, favoring planes over trains or cars.
Parents report that children often cry due to difficulty sleeping (43%). Many feel embarrassed too—the same 43% admit to shame over their kids' in-flight behavior. Interestingly, 80% get irritated by other families' restless children.
Cabin crew play a key role in easing the stress: 76% of parents credit staff attentiveness for making family flights more comfortable and reassuring.
