As summer holidays kick off across the Netherlands, millions are heading to sunny destinations. While two-thirds of travelers have eagerly anticipated their trips, the journey often brings frustrations like dirty rest stops, heavy traffic, and delays. Surprisingly, few worry about smartphone battery life or poor signal strength.
Even at their destinations, connectivity takes a back seat. Just 2% see WiFi as essential for a perfect holiday, compared to 45% who prioritize stunning surroundings. Holidays mean ultimate downtime: quality time with loved ones, indulgent meals (with an average weight gain of 1-3 kg), skipping the gym, and forgetting budgets. What do we miss most? Our own beds and pets. These insights come straight from the National Travel Survey 2018 by www.d-reizen.nl, based on responses from thousands of Dutch vacationers.
