5 Outings for children just across the border in Germany

I listed the best 5 outings for children just across the border in Germany. We made most of the outings ourselves and I can really recommend it. Are you looking for a nice outing in Germany just across the border? These outings for the whole family are highly recommended.

Holidays or trips in Germany

Germany is relatively easy and quick to reach for most people. From Utrecht it is about 200 km to the border with Germany. A distance that can also be easily bridged with children. We live in between Nijmegen and Arnhem and can be in Germany within half an hour. Ideal because we go to Germany more often, because you can shop there cheaply. We also like Kleve very much, because you can eat well for little at Steakhouse Hotel zur Post.

Fortunately, there are more nice places just across the border with the frontrunner:Oberhausen, even more CentrO. You can easily spend a whole day here as a family without getting bored. Even staying overnight in the area is a good idea. This is possible, for example, in one of the nice Interhome holiday homes.

Duisburg with its zoo and Bottrop with Moviepark Germany are also highly recommended. Or visit Erlebnispark von Emsflower, the largest bedding and pot nursery in Europe. Below you will find the best 5 outings for children just across the border in Germany.

5 Outings for children just across the border in Germany

1. Movie Park Germany

Movie Park Germany is a fun amusement park just across the border in Germany. Originally the park was called Warner Bros Movie Park, but that has now changed to Movie Park. Central to the park are films for young and old. Currently this includes Paw Patrol for the smallest visitors to the park. Due to a wide variety of attractions and shows, the park is really suitable for young and old and not only small, but also older children can enjoy themselves perfectly. Tip:don't forget to visit the Crazy Cops New York show where you will see live action and movie stunts.

2. Sealife Oberhause

A few weeks ago we went to Sealife Oberhausen https://tipsvoorjou.com/uittip-voor-de-vakantie-sealife-oberhausen/. I have written an extensive blog about it, but you can say that it is highly recommended. Not only fun to do with children, but also well worth a visit for adults. Keep in mind that it is not too big and children are certainly bored within 2 – 3 hours. Ideal to combine with other fun outings at CentrO.

Another fun outing with children just across the border in Germany is Legoland Discovery Center https://tipsvoorjou.com/win-4-vrijkaarten-voor-legoland-discovery-centre-oberhausen/ in Oberhausen. We haven't been there as my kids are too old for it, but it seems to be really nice. I also wrote a blog about it before, where I also raffled tickets. Ideal to combine with a day at Sea Life, where there is a balanced balance between playing and enjoying nature.

4. Wunderland Kalkar Family Park

We've never been here ourselves, but I've read so many nice stories about Familiepark Wunderland Kalkar that I've added it to my list. The park looks very nice, although I think it is mainly suitable for younger children, although there are also quite a few attractions that little ones are not allowed to enter. So it seems to me a perfect outing for families with young and older children. Extra nice:it is just 30 minutes across the border from Arnhem.

Zoo Duisburg

The last outing for children just across the border in Germany is Zoo Duisburg. A great fun zoo where I unfortunately have been years ago. In addition to all kinds of animals, the zoo also has a dolphinarium where shows are given. At the time, the public was also involved, for example my sister has been in a boat that was pulled by two dolphins. There is also a very large playground, a house with koalas and much more. We plan to go there again soon with our teenagers, because we already loved it then.
