From the street, GuestHouse Hotel blends seamlessly into Kaatsheuvel's landscape as a low-rise building. A standout feature: its restaurant overlooks the adjacent Albert Heijn supermarket through a glass wall—a clever touch for families.
In a word: stunning. Newly built with a modern aesthetic, the interior wowed us upon entry. Both adults and kids felt instantly at home. Access the hotel via stairs from the ground-floor restaurant, where breakfast is served (details below). Halfway up, a large chalkboard displays fun messages, and hallway carpets mimic streets with zebra crossings and boulders for a playful vibe.
Located on the first floor, check-in includes welcome vouchers for coffee and kids' lemonade—true family focus. Relax in the play-equipped lobby. We received our room key and settled into a spacious, air-conditioned family room, ideal for summer.
Reception also stocks the 'Hotel to the Rescue shop' with essentials like chargers, toothbrushes, ponchos, umbrellas, and kids' green rain boots.
Spacious rooms impressed our family. Kids raced for the bunk bed, while we enjoyed a comfy double. Each bed has a metal shelf with outlets—perfect for charging devices amid free, strong Wi-Fi. All rooms include TVs with Netflix.
Room types:
For 4-6 guests, featuring massive bunk beds (including 6-person options) and mini-fridges.
Our stay: fits 1-5, with desk, bench, and safe.
Largest options, some with sitting areas for 3-6; others sleep up to 8—great for groups or blended families.
Just 500 meters to Efteling's parking—follow the street, round the bend, and you're there. Entrance is a bit farther but walkable. Park at the hotel to save €10 daily.
Endless kid perks make it shine.
Playhouse, sandbox, slide, plus table football, billiards, table tennis, air hockey. Lounge on the vast terrace.
Rainy days? Cozy lobby with bar, coffee corner (sweet cappuccinos!), fenced play zones with kitchens and board games. Handy carts for little ones heading to Efteling.
Solid buffet: breads, meats, cheeses, spreads, hard-boiled/scrambled eggs, cereals, yogurts, juices. Cappuccino shines upstairs. €10/person or included in Efteling packages.
Ground-floor restaurant books up—reserve ahead. Kids' menu available. Our family of four (three adults' full meals, child's main/dessert) totaled €155 with drinks—quality justified it. Adult-friendly wines too.
Partnership reduces waste using near-expiry items. On-site greenhouses grow produce; moss roof cools the store and manages rainwater sustainably.
Our experience was exceptional. Prices start around €110/night (invited stay), varying by package with Efteling tickets—check site by date. More transparent base rates would help planning.
