Last weekend, our family immersed ourselves in Drenthe's natural beauty at Landal's Het Land van Bartje holiday park. Packing a full Drenthe experience into just a weekend proved a resounding success. Here's our firsthand account, starting with what makes this park special.

As seasoned Landal visitors, we were genuinely impressed by Het Land van Bartje's thoughtful design. Nestled in Drenthe's Hondsrug region, it offers unmatched privacy. The next morning, coffee in hand, we gazed over the driving range—golf balls from evening play scattered across the lush field—a serene start to our day.

We arrived late, but key collection was seamless with our entry pass. Despite car troubles en route, we reached our cottage without issue—a relief!
Beds were made up, evoking that welcome luxury after a long drive. A complimentary bottle of rosé added a thoughtful touch—perfect for unwinding.
Fresh from a woodland hike and the Boomkroonpad trail with a Staatsbosbeheer guide, our daughter Lotte enjoyed a bath before cozying up for an episode of 'The Voice Kids'.
Het Land van Bartje's natural setting shines through the park. Detached accommodations are surrounded by grass, trees, or both, right in the heart of the Hondsrug.
Our charming white farmhouse-style cottage featured colorful shutters. Slightly set back, it's walkable; for tiny tots, rent bikes on-site or use a handcart to explore.
True to Landal standards, everything was spotless, fully equipped, and ready. Opt for doorstep breakfast delivery for leisurely mornings.
Choices abound: 2- to 10-person cottages, mobile homes, country houses, bungalows, even thatched-roof homes with private lawns for soccer or badminton. Mobile home fields foster playdates—ideal for families with young kids, watching safely from your terrace.
Boredom? Unthinkable. From outdoor adventures to indoor fun, options suit all ages.
Landal shines here with a spacious pool, fun slide, and summer outdoor section. We skipped it due to packed schedules and car woes (cue roadside recovery photo!), but it's family-approved.
Scattered throughout: playgrounds, a massive bouncy castle by the pool, and mini ones near mobile homes—perfect for spontaneous play.
Head to Bartje's Farm for ball pits, indoor sandboxes, or bike-crossing—all covered. Parents relax on the terrace with coffee and pastries.
A family favorite: ride, groom, or meadow-walk ponies (book ahead) at this ranch named for the park's eldest pony. Lotte was smitten—endless cute moments!
Horse-drawn tours with coachman tales of dolmens, local lore, ice cream spots, and more. Pulled by Ugo & Ulysse, complete with picnic delights like coffee, lemonade, donuts, and cake.
No golf cert needed—practice swings on the range with panoramic views.
Wellness, golf, tennis, mini-golf, table football, pool tables. Rent quality bikes for Borger rides—we loved ours, rain and all.
Dine here or grab croquettes, terrace drinks, snacks, pizza, or farm treats. Versatile options abound.
Indulge in massages, facials, manicures, or shiatsu—pure relaxation amid your getaway.
