We don't know about you, but we have to admit that we like to have a little fun from time to time by looking at dream places on the net. On the program:dream beaches, crazy hotels, breathtaking landscapes... But if you are more into snow, we have found the perfect place:nestled in the Ruth Glacier in the middle of Denali National Park in Alaska, the hotel Sheldon Chalet offers incredible views from almost 1,800m high!
We prefer to warn you:we do not come across the Sheldon Chalet by chance. To get there, you have to take the helicopter for 30 minutes from the town of Talkeetna in Alaska. Oh, and a small detail, this is a luxury hotel that only has 5 rooms and can accommodate a maximum of 10 people. Do you see where we are coming from? Inevitably, sleeping there is not given. It is necessary to count in the 2,300 € per night. Ouch! That said, the hotel being alone in the middle of the Amphitheater of Ruth and being made up of large bay windows, we have access to a truly incredible panorama. Depending on the period, you can even see sublime aurora borealis! This is the perfect opportunity to disconnect since the chalet has neither an internet connection nor mobile coverage. So what do we do there? Well, we enjoy the view in the warm, we enjoy a good meal at the gourmet restaurant of the hotel or we relax in the sauna! And if you ever get tired of it (you never know...), there are a whole host of activities on offer such as helicopter rides, skiing, hiking, sledding, exploring caves in snow, swimming in the thermal springs or building igloos. We agree, it's pretty cool!
