Survey: 14% of Dutch Travelers Lost Luggage in Past 5 Years, Yet 30% Want More Baggage Allowance

A recent survey by Van Beek Lederwaren, a trusted name in leather goods, polled over 1,000 Dutch respondents and uncovered striking travel habits. No less than 14% reported losing their luggage at least once in the past five years. Additionally, 19% admitted to leaving bags unattended in public spaces. Despite these common mishaps, 30% expressed a desire to pack more for their holidays.

Baggage limits remain a top frustration for many vacationers. The study shows 30% want to exceed airline allowances, with willingness to pay extra: 50% up to €25, 10% up to €50, and 5% no limit. Meanwhile, 36% prefer sticking to free allowances.
