56% of Dutch Holidaymakers Hit with Post-Holiday Blues, Eliza was Here Survey Finds

After lounging on white sandy beaches, enjoying refreshing pool dips, and soaking up vitamin D, the return to rainy weather, work, and daily routines hits hard for many Dutch travelers. A survey by travel organization Eliza was Here reveals that 56% of Dutch people experience a post-holiday dip upon returning home.

The slump isn't limited to summer returns—nearly half (47%) crave a ticket to sunnier destinations during the cold winter months. Across seasons, anticipation builds joy: 76% of Dutch respondents appreciate having a holiday booked to look forward to.

Holidays also play a key role in stress management. About 31% of Dutch people report daily stress, with women (37%) more affected than men (26%). Notably, 29% feel less stressed after booking a trip, a effect amplified among millennials (25-34 years old), where 44% report reduced stress levels.
