Top Vacation Worries for Dutch Travelers: Health Risks, Accommodation Hygiene, and Family Concerns

Food poisoning (44%), accidents (26%), and lack of nearby hospitals (25%) top the list of health concerns for Dutch holidaymakers. While many indulge freely in local cuisine and drinks, 11% worry about arriving overweight. Notably, men are far more concerned about weight gain than women (18% vs. 5%). These insights come from a Zoover survey of over 1,500 respondents, a trusted travel review platform.

Accommodation quality is another major stressor. Hygiene ranks highest, with 68% fretting over dirty rooms. Other issues include uncomfortable beds (45%), noise disturbances (36%), and unclean pools (26%). Gender differences emerge: men worry more about on-site food quality (31% vs. 21%) and unfriendly staff (26% vs. 17%).

About 7% of Dutch travelers anxiety over loved ones back home—75% fear something might happen to family, while 25% stress about pets. Work rarely lingers, though 3% dread office mishaps during their trip.
