As a longtime fan of Greek cuisine, we recently dined at Restaurant Milos in The Hague. In this review, I'll share our firsthand experiences with the food, service, and atmosphere based on a real visit.
A few weeks ago, I decided on a spontaneous Saturday afternoon drive to Scheveningen. We set off optimistically, though fog and lateness raised doubts. Persisting, we arrived after nearly 2 hours of driving and endless parking searches. Unfortunately, Scheveningen was freezing with fierce winds. Despite my warm clothing—and childhood memories of living there—I'd underestimated the cold.
We didn't linger on the beach. The pier offered some shelter and warmth, but my daughter and I soon had enough. Heading straight home wasn't appealing, so we turned to the Social Deal app for a restaurant. Predictably, a Greek spot caught our eye: Restaurant Milos.
Restaurant Milos is a cozy, mid-sized spot in The Hague, easily accessible with free parking nearby. Its extensive menu features 99 dishes, from fresh salads to mixed grills, including vegetarian options. Social Deal bookings offer a generous selection, and beverage choices abound.
Photos of the exterior were impossible due to darkness and cold; inside was too crowded for privacy-respecting shots.
We booked via Social Deal for a three-course dinner at just €5.25 per person—a steal given the varied starters, mains, and desserts.
Seated centrally, our table proved challenging. It took nearly 30 minutes for drinks, another 20 for ordering, and starters arrived late. I was overlooked, receiving mine after others finished—not ideal for a cozy meal.
The mains took over 1.5 hours and required prompting. Desserts followed promptly.
Despite service delays, the food shone: large, flavorful, varied portions, including desserts. We left fully satisfied.
One downside: disruptive guests at the next table—overly boisterous and inappropriate toward staff—dampened the mood for all. Service staff handled it professionally, but it persisted.
Overall, the delicious food overshadows minor issues. With better attention to timing, Milos could elevate its 9.1 Social Deal rating to 9.5.
