Favorite:La Plantation d’Albion Club Med, in Mauritius

Where exactly is it?

On the west coast of Mauritius, in the heart of a 22-hectare natural estate nestled in the middle of sugar cane fields.

Why do we love?

First, for the decoration by Marc Hertrich and Nicolas Adnet, which perfectly fuses modernity and Indian, Chinese and African influences. Then, because the Plantation d'Albion beach, lined with casuarina trees, is not private and you can rub shoulders with Mauritians who come to spend Sundays with their families at the water's edge, but also local fishermen. Also, because the 266 rooms, all with terrace or balcony, disappear behind lush vegetation:tamarinds, cacti, flamboyants and banyans. Finally, because the service, attentive and discreet, is truly worthy of a 5-star hotel.

What do we do there?

Nothing, if you will, by the Zen pool. Everything, if you will, on the side of the lively swimming pool. We then take advantage of the activities offered in all inclusive (tennis, sailing, golf, kayaking, paddle…), and especially the flying trapeze (it is the only one in the Indian Ocean). And we book at least one of the many excursions offered in small groups or à la carte. In terms of culture, we recommend "Authentic Port Louis", a visit to the capital with departure from the Plantation by boat and arrival in Port-Louis by sea. Unique! On the adrenaline side, the "SeaKart Sensations" excursion, to discover the most beautiful Mauritian lagoons by piloting your SeaKart (large secure jet-ski), or the "Safari Casela" to walk with lions in the middle of nature. And for a life-size view of the island, embark on the Blue Bay Marine Park, Ilot Bénitier or Ile aux Cerfs. We finally relax at the Spa Cinq Mondes by choosing an outdoor treatment for the pleasure of having a massage while listening to the sound of the ocean...

What do we eat there?

Everything, absolutely everything (Italian, Mauritian, Asian…) or almost, but above all very good! Chef David Salvi and his brigade create a surprise every evening with many minute cooking and breathtaking presentations. Special mention for the breads (up to 8 different varieties!) and desserts, both gourmet and light. La Plantation d'Albion has been awarded the "Table Gourmet" label and we understand why...

We reserve!
