Machu Picchu in Peru claims the global top spot. The Taj Mahal ranks 5th worldwide, while the Eiffel Tower lands at 14th—just outside the top 10. Other global standouts include the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in the UAE (2nd), St. Isaac's Cathedral in St. Petersburg, Russia (5th), and the Lincoln Memorial in the US (9th). Tripadvisor also shared average one-night hotel prices near these icons: as low as €30 near the Taj Mahal in Agra, India, and up to €129 by the Eiffel Tower.
In Europe, Italy shines with St. Peter's Basilica and Milan Cathedral, followed by Spain's Cordoba Cathedral and Alhambra. For France, the Eiffel Tower dominates, with other Paris gems like Notre-Dame Cathedral, Opéra Garnier, Sainte-Chapelle, Sacré-Cœur Basilica, Arc de Triomphe, and Pont Alexandre III rounding out the top seven. Strasbourg Cathedral takes 8th, Versailles Palace 9th, and Marseille's Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde closes the list at 10th.
